America Saves Week

America Saves is a national social marketing campaign that encourages low and moderate income individuals to save money, reduce debt and build wealth. The campaign is a year round effort. America Saves Week (February 27 - March, 4 2017) is an expanded effort aimed at highlighting the campaign, reaching institutions and individuals to increase awareness on the need to save money, reduce debt and build wealth with a primary focus on Financial Action – commitments to save, invest and build wealth.

More than 1,000 non-profit organizations, companies, government agencies, educational institutions, religious institutions, and unions participate in America Saves Week.

Top savings priorities include:

  • Emergency Fund - people are saving on average $68 a month.
  • Savings & Investment - people are saving on average $74 a month.
  • Homeownership - people are saving on average $93 a month.

You can get involved by:

  • Hosting an event or financial education workshop
  • Sharing tips and resources with your family, friends, co-workers and/or clientele.
  • Distributing paycheck stuffers at your place of work or posting tips on the intranet
  • Mailings encouraging others to be involved
  • Sharing financial education with children and encouraging them to enroll in the Young Savers Program
